On Tuesday afternoon we will have an excursion. You have the following options to choose from:
a) Ambitious hiking: Stoos Ridgeline Route. The steepest funicular in the world reaches the car-free mountain village of Stoos. A chairlift runs to the starting point of the hike – Klingenstock. Of course, the ascent is also possible on foot. Those heading west towards Rot Turm and Nollen should be sure-footed and free from fear of heights. Far below, Lake Lucerne accompanies the hike along the ridge to Huser Stock. Then you zigzag down the rock-cut and chain-secured mountain trail to Furggeli. The last ascent is the steepest, from the alpine hut at Furggeli up to the summit of Fronalpstock.
b) Less ambitious hiking: Fronalpweg. The Fronalpweg offers insights into the life of the alpine herders on the Stoos, their traditions and rituals, at eleven stations. Over roots and stones, to well-maintained alpine meadows and fantastic views, the path leads from the Fronalpstock summit down into the Frontal to the Stoos-Seeli. A wooden ball is the playful companion: from the balance game on the sun island, over the ball tracks, to scenic resting places in nature. Original elements, such as a telescope, milk cans, and the bell puzzle, explain special features like the 'Betruf' and medicinal plants.
c) The easy way: Panorama Route Fronalpstock by chairlift. If you cannot complete the ridge route from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock, you do not have to miss the special panoramic experience. The panorama route is basically a mini-version that focuses on the final highlight of the ridge route. You travel to the car-free resort village of Stoos at 1300 meters with the steepest funicular railway in the world. Then you go up to the 1922 meter high Fronalpstock by chairlift. Once at the top, the view overwhelms you. Ten lakes and countless peaks of Central Switzerland lie at our feet. The comfortable route, accessible with an all-terrain stroller, runs relatively flat and leads back to the Fronalpstock Hotel | Restaurant. The little ones can enjoy the large playground or play around with the dwarf goats. The picnic area at the playground and various rest areas at the summit invite you to linger.
